BISC'IT ALL V2 - Our Intra-House Game Show
House FIRE dominated the "Longest Standing Jump" and the "Matrix Memory Mastery" rounds. "Broadsheet Squeeze" saw a historic tie between AIR and EARTH, while FIRE also narrowly won the "Trivia Quiz Thriller."
In the whole-school typing final, Year 6's Musa F impressed, with Year 10's Hussein A (EARTH) ultimately winning. The "Last BISC’IT Standing" endurance challenge saw five champions balance for 90 minutes, including Year 6 debutants Taya A H (WATER) and Tamara H (AIR), alongside staff members Mrs Diamond (AIR), Mr Farooq and Miss Hardy. AIR celebrated two stalwarts remaining.
House FIRE crowned champions! After an electrifying afternoon, House FIRE emerged victorious! Their strong performances in jumps, memory and trivia sealed their win. However, the true success was the incredible energy from Year 6, the strong student-staff camaraderie and the overwhelming support from the audience. Over 125 students and numerous staff participated, making BISC'IT ALL V2 an unforgettable spectacle.
Thank you to Mr Tabram, the pastoral team and the Year 12 House Captains. We can't wait for BISC’IT ALL V3!
Sports News
May has been an incredibly busy and exciting month for sport at BISC! Our students have shown tremendous enthusiasm, proudly representing the school in a wide array of fixtures.
So far, we have fielded 16 football and basketball teams (U10-U16) in friendly matches against AIS and Ethos School, as well as in the BSME Egypt and CISSA leagues. This has provided a significant number of opportunities for our students to compete and develop their skills.
Looking ahead, the sporting calendar remains packed. We have more CISSA Football fixtures for our U10 and U12 boys (two teams each) and U10 girls (two teams). Our U12 boys' and girls' basketball teams will also be competing in CISSA. A major highlight still to come is Cairo Swim 2, with over 45 students from U11, U13 and U15 age groups invited to participate.
By the end of May, BISC will have fielded a remarkable 24 teams in football and basketball, representing 288 player opportunities! Many dedicated students have proudly represented BISC in multiple fixtures and sports throughout the month.
The commitment, effort and positive spirit from all students have been truly commendable. They have represented the school admirably, showcasing not only their sporting talent but also embodying the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
A huge thank you to all the students for their dedication, the staff for their tireless coaching and organising, and the parents for their continued support from the sidelines. We look forward to celebrating more achievements in the upcoming fixtures!

Tech Titans Inspire Year 12 at Careers Seminar
Last Tuesday’s Careers lesson was anything but ordinary, as Year 12 students had the unique opportunity to hear directly from leading professionals at IBM and Ericsson - two global giants at the forefront of innovation.
Ericsson's Mostafa Ibrahim (Pre-Sales Solution Architect) kicked off the session by diving into the company’s rich history and dynamic culture. He was joined by Omar ElAlfy, a data scientist who captivated the audience with real-world insights into how AI and 5G technologies are reshaping our world, from smart cities to next-gen communication.
Representing IBM, Mai El-Samman (CSR Manager for Egypt) introduced students to SkillsBuild, IBM’s powerful (and free!) platform, which is designed to help young learners explore educational resources and career paths in tech and beyond. Amira Noaman, a data scientist at IBM, shared her personal journey - from university life to working in one of the world’s most influential tech companies - while highlighting the diverse range of roles available, whether you are tech-savvy or creatively inclined.
It was an eye-opening session that left students inspired, informed and excited about the possibilities ahead in the ever-evolving world of technology.

Parent Workshop
We are delighted to report on the tremendous success of our recent Parent Information Session "Supporting Your Child's Development", held on Monday 19th May. We saw excellent attendance and engagement from parents, which made for a truly vibrant and productive afternoon.
The session was incredibly interactive, with parents enjoying games with bubbles and engaging in musical chairs, which we used as tools for teaching self-regulation. Discussions delved into important topics such as emotional validation and we worked through various cases and scenarios, offering practical insights and a forum for questions.
We are incredibly keen to continue these sessions next year and invite the wider community to engage in further conversation. Look out for a follow-up next week, where we will be sharing information from the session as well as answers to the questions that were asked.

Foundation Stage News
Foundation Stage 1
It was another very busy week in FS1. Alongside the regular classroom-based activities, the children have begun to rehearse for the end of year production. This involves auditioning, learning dances, songs and lines.

Foundation Stage 2
FS2 children are beginning an exciting new topic all about travel, with a special focus on holidays, journeys and the children’s own personal experiences.
To bring the topic to life, we have set up a class airport for role play, and next week the children are invited to bring in their suitcases or travel bags to enjoy imaginative play as passengers and staff at the airport.
As part of the topic, the children will also be creating their own passports and preparing short presentations to share special places they have visited with their classmates. This provides an opportunity for children to explore different cultures, celebrate their own experiences and build confidence in speaking and listening.
We are really looking forward to seeing where this journey takes us!
