BISC Graduating Class 2024 - Graduation Ceremony
An incredibly impressive graduation took place last Friday, the 7th of June, celebrating BISC’s outgoing Year 13 Class of 2024. Keynote speakers moved and inspired the audience. BISC was privileged to hear from Sir Tim Berners-Lee, His Excellency the British Ambassador to Egypt, Mr Gareth Bayley and Ms Ferial Abo Shokka, a highly successful alumna.
The Graduating Class of 2024 is truly special, and the event reflected and celebrated their successes and achievements. Parents, staff, students and guests of honour were so proud of their achievements; it was a moving and special day for the BISC community, particularly, of course, parents and family members of the graduating class. The event, hosted by the Chairman, was magnificent; displaying the very best of BISC education and standards.
We wish the graduating class of 2024 the very best of luck in their future adventures and want to remind them that BISC will always be here and will remain their home.
End of Term Events and Celebrations
It has been a very special end of year. The events have all been very successful and special: three impressive graduations, three evening parties, whole school breakfast, class parties, quizzes, productions, a pool party, House competitions, and wellbeing events.
I remain so very proud of our students; they deserve all the fun and special events this week. They have worked hard, behaved impeccably and shown considerable maturity and kindness throughout this week. Well done, all.
A very special thank you to all the teachers and staff who made these events possible. And of course, to our parents for their continued support.
Wishing everyone a very restful and peaceful summer.

Year 12 IB Group Four Science Project
Year 12 students took part in the IB Group Four Collaborative Science and Computer Science Project this week. As part of their IB qualification, the project is an excellent opportunity for students from various Science disciplines – Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Computer Science – to collaborate and showcase their combined knowledge.
The Project took the form of a Rube Goldberg machine building challenge. Students were given one hour to construct an obstacle course and design a chain reaction that culminates in ringing a bell, in the most creative way possible. Photos
Year 12 Feedback Sessions
Monday 10th June was feedback day for the Year 12 students, who have worked incredibly hard recently. After two gruelling weeks of examinations in all their subjects, it is now time to reflect. We have introduced a new system to the Sixth Form this year, whereby students have interviews with each of their teachers, to receive pertinent and personalised feedback. Students have also been given access to revision guides in all subject areas to review over the summer and be ready for the September assessment window. The September assessment window ensures that all of the syllabus covered in Year 12 is understood and then we can move confidently onto new material in Year 13.
Thank you to the students, who were partying late the night before at “The Last 200 Yards” event, hosted by our Chairman. Both our Chairman and Principal spoke of the importance of working hard, but also finding balance. Our Year 12 students have grown so much this year and we are very proud of them. More photos here.
Senior School End of Year Activities
Senior School students enjoyed a pool party in the sunshine on Wednesday 12th June, making the most of the fun activities organised for them during the final week of term.
Year 6 Graduation
The Year 6 Graduation Ceremony was a memorable occasion, marking the formal transition to Senior School. Proud families and teachers gathered to honour the achievements of the pupils. The ceremony featured incredible speeches from the pupils, who eloquently shared their favourite memories, lessons learned and hopes for the future. Their heartfelt words showcased their growth, resilience and excitement for the new challenges ahead. The event was filled with joy, applause and a few tears, highlighting the strong bonds formed over the years. As they embark on their next journey, the pupils carry with them a strong foundation and cherished memories. Well done and congratulations.
Pupils from Year 3 to Year 5 were also celebrated during the ceremony. Awards and certificates were given out. A joyous occasion which is very well deserved. A fantastic way to end the year. More photos here, and a replay of the event.
Junior School Assembly
The final assembly of the year was held this week and attended by Years 1 to 6. It was a full agenda with celebrations of Star of the Week, Mathematician of the Week and awards to those pupils who were not present at the Year 6 Graduation Assembly. Year 6 shared their experiences of El Alamein residential trip, while Ms B's challenge this time elicited the more creative side of both pupils and teachers. Some Year 6 pupils also led a Wake Up Shake Up dance, which was enjoyed by all.
We ended the Assembly with an emotional farewell to Mr Langridge. We would like to wish him the best of luck for the future and invite him back to Egypt to visit us anytime. Moreover, on behalf of the entire Junior School, we thank him for his support, care, guidance and presence at BISC - he will be greatly missed! More photos here.
Class Parties
Classes enjoyed parties and snacks today to celebrate a wonderful year with their friends and teachers.

In line with the Egypt and Middle East Programme's commitment to strengthening the sense of Arabic identity among our pupils, the Arabic Drama Club members performed a short production this week. This production "Mr Planet" featured a group of pupils from Years 3 to 6, who rehearsed hard throughout the year to develop their pronunciation and perform confidently on stage in an atmosphere filled with fun and joy.
"Mr Planet" revolves around two aliens landing on Earth, in their attempt to choose the best planet in the solar system to inhabit. They coincidentally arrive where a masquerade party is taking place, with people representing the Pharaonic, Greek and Roman civilizations, and engaging in a dialogue. Our pupils memorised their lines well and demonstrated high creative potential in Drama. More photos here.
This was a thrilling week in Foundation Stage 1 and Foundation Stage 2. We said goodbye to the Foundation Stage 2 children at their amazing Graduation Ceremony and wished them well in Year 1.
We finished the year with the annual Foundation Stage 1 production 'A Night in the Library' which was spectacular. More photos here. A video replay of the event can be viewed here.
The Foundation Stage 2 Graduation Ceremony was an event to remember, with some special guests joining the Chairman and teachers on stage! More photos here. A video replay of the event can be viewed here.
Thank you all for your support during the year; it has been a pleasure and the Foundation Stage team wishes you all an enjoyable and safe Summer.
