End of Year Arrangements
The Eid Al Adha celebration is projected to fall on the 28th or 29th of June. Based on this information we are making Tuesday 27th June the last day of the school year. Calendars will be updated accordingly.
Vaping
It is becoming apparent that vaping is becoming popular in Egypt. It should be noted that any pupil who has vaping equipment in school will face sanctions but, more importantly, parents need to keep a close eye on their children and be aware of the signs of vaping usage. Here is a link to the FDA website which gives information on tell-tale signs of vaping and advice for conversations with your children.
The information below is from the CDC website:
- The use of e-cigarettes is unsafe for kids, teens, and young adults.
- Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine. Nicotine is highly addictive and can harm adolescent brain development, which continues into the early to mid-20s.
- E-cigarettes can contain other harmful substances besides nicotine.
- Young people who use e-cigarettes may be more likely to smoke cigarettes in the future.

Word of the Week
Accelerated Reader Parent Workshop
Thank you to all the parents who attended the KS2 workshop on Monday, it was great to see so many of you and we hope you found it informative. The slideshow has been shared on each Google Classroom in KS2.In addition, we listened to your feedback with regards to clear expectations for reading; further communication regarding this will be shared next week.
Accelerated Readers Rewarded
Today we celebrated the efforts of a group of Year 6 children that reached a combined total of 1,000,000 words in their Accelerated Reading group. They enjoyed a treat in the Nature Garden for their commitment to reading.
This week, Foundation Stage 1 have been learning about the importance of Oral Hygiene. In 2021, the EYFS framework was reviewed, and teaching the importance of oral hygiene was added. Good oral health habits must be formed from the earliest age; tooth decay is largely preventable, but it’s still a serious problem among young children.
As part of our lunar new year celebrations, we enjoyed cooking rice and noodles. We also made a dragon using fans, researched traditions from different countries, sang songs and created a dragon dance!
Foundation Stage 2 have begun an exploration into Space this week! We have learnt all about the sun being our solar system's star and read some non-fiction texts to blast off our knowledge. In Phonics, the children have been learning sounds 'qu' and 'ch' as well as the new set of tricky words. The children have been trying their best to write some words independently. In Maths, the children have been practising using their numbers within ten.
