Senior School ASA Options - Term 1, 2025-26

At BISC we offer a wealth of diverse and engaging enrichment activities to our pupils at every stage of their education. From academic enrichment activities, to sport and arts clubs, our enrichment activities promote fun, teamwork and a commitment to learning and self-improvement. In Term 1 there is a focus on providing opportunities for students to try new activities, student led ASAs, sports and targeted Yr 11 and 13 GCSE and IB support. 

Our clubs are provided by either our own teaching staff or qualified coaches and these change every term providing our pupils with a range and choice of activities.

Science Enrichment For KS3/KS4 

The Science Enrichment ASA offers Y7, Y8 & Y9 students opportunities to develop advanced scientific skills through hands-on activities, experiments, and participation in science competitions. It aims to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper engagement with science beyond the classroom.

In this activity, students will have a chance to learn about techniques used by archaeologists  to understand people in the past. We will explore this through looking at ancient Egyptian archaeological sites and history with hands on practical and art activities.

AI Assisted Literary Graphic Novel Production

This is a wonderful opportunity for  students to use their AI and literary skills to create a series of graphic novels. These could be published through Amazon Direct Publishing. or in an alternative platform. This ASA would combine AI skills, English skills and Business Studies for a real entrepreneurial experience.

Join our student-run newspaper, the BISC'IT Times, where you can become an editor or journalist, contributing articles on diverse topics. MUN

Model United Nations is a student led academic simulation of the United Nations where students adopt the roles of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. For example, a student may be assigned the United Kingdom and will have to solve global topics such as nuclear non-proliferation or climate change from the policies and perspectives of the United Kingdom. There will be opportunities to attend national and international conferences if attendance at ASAs is consistent.

Model United Nations is a student led academic simulation of the United Nations where students adopt the roles of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. For example, a student may be assigned the United Kingdom and will have to solve global topics such as nuclear non-proliferation or climate change from the policies and perspectives of the United Kingdom. Attendance

In all ASAs, Sports included, three (3) absences from ASAs during the term will result in parents being contacted for removal from that ASA. Medical exceptions apply when prior notice is given.

There are a small number of invitation-only ASAs this term, tailored to provide further support for pupils who will benefit from it the most. Parents and pupils have been notified via email if they are invited to attend these ASAs.
